I have taken on board criticism that my seasonal posting last year showed that I hadn't quite grasped the spirit of Christmas. This year I am a reformed character, to prove it I have even invested in some Christmas lights to decorate my house during the festive season:
A Merry Christmas to all who read my musings. Nadolig llawen iawn.
Ah, isn't that sweet. Merry Humbug to you, old son. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is nice to know...
ReplyDeleteA Very Merry Christmas!
(i have not been regulalry reading, but will be doing it now on :))

devika
Happy Christmas :-)
ReplyDeleteWell my old friend! A merry humbug to you! and just remember old young liberals don't die! they just evolve into higher states of conscientious!
ReplyDeleteWith best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

Where did you get those lights?
ReplyDeleteThey sum things up nicely.
Well, you have made me laugh! Hope you are having a merry one.
ReplyDeleteVery Merry Mid-Winter's Festival!
ReplyDelete(or in my case, geographically, Mid-Summer's),
The exclamation, "BAH!" in Gáucho - south Brazilian - speak is an abbreviation for "Barbaridade!" not difficult to understand the translation - "Barbarity!". "Humbug", I guess we can translate perhaps as "Besteira", which could also be re-translated into "Bullshit". Although it exists, I haven't seen any Portuguese translation of Dickens's "A Christmas Carol" to confirm the latter. The former is my own observation. Anyway, have a good one!
