Congratulations Lindsay Roy MP

Disappointing result in Glenrothes. The Labour party has not only held on to the seat but also increased their share of the vote.

However the SNP did increase its vote by 13% so the result hardly bursts the SNP's bubble or ends Alex Salmond's honeymoon, but disappointing nevertheless.

Congratulations to Lindsay Roy MP.

  2. The SNP's vote increased by almost 50%! from 8731 to 13209. Labout vote increased from 19395 to 19946!

  3. I think that is a fair call, by elections are not like mini elections, and I don’t think there is a massive narrative to come out of it.

  4. Then why was Ian Lucas MP on Radio Wales at lunchtime, claiming the death knell of Welsh and Scottish nationalism?

  6. Labour can't believe their luck with the credit crunch - it's the best thing to happen to them for years.
1 - it helps them look like their solving a problem
2 - it helps us forget they went along with the policies that caused it
3 - it enables them to obstruct all constituional questions by pretending they're too busy 'solving' the crisis.

Plaid ought to up its game here and go on the attack.
